The Eye & The Chip 2006 meeting took place in Detroit. Artificial vision and retinal chip implants were discussed.
Harvard Medical School — International ophthalmologists and researchers met in Detroit in June ’06 to discuss the future of artificial vision and retina implants that are being developed in over one hundred research facilities around the world.
Over 30 investigators and clinicians from 9 countries and 26 programs came together with the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology to present their work and findings with visual neuro-prosthetic devices.
They discussed topics in the areas of: microelectronics, transretinal stimulators, the Korean Artificial Retina Project, Visual Prosthesis, Visual Outcomes in Retinal Prosthetic Clinical Trials, Epiretinal Stimulation of Ganglion Cells, Retinal Responses to Electrical Stimulation and more.
